…for ConDFW (I leave in the morning, won’t be back until Monday night, and may not post until Tuesday),  Editor sent me an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy, also known as a review copy) of the book.   (Let me tell you, hearing that people had bought one on e-Bay, when I didn’t have one, was a strain on my equanimity!)   However, I now have something for show-and-tell, even though it doesn’t have any of the artwork. While prowling through the files in the Oath of Fealty folder, to find what I wanted to take to ConDFW for the reading, I discovered a chapter I’d forgotten (didn’t make it into the book) which my husband said would make a good reading chunk.   I squinted at it and realized that more than that, it would make a good short story in the 2500 word range, if I tweaked it some.  Tweaking occurred (more fun than packing, as I should’ve been) and I sent it off to Editor, who had requested relevant, appetite-whetting short fiction earlier in the week, as you may recall from a post about it. Editor liked it.   So it, too, is going to ConDFW.

Why, you may wonder, isn’t it in the book?   Because it’s one of those stories I write in another POV, to get inside a character who, nonetheless, doesn’t need a POV section now.   Or maybe ever.  But I need to understand him or her.  In this case, it’s the king of Pargun.   It will be up on Suvudu.com at some point, as will the other one.

Also in the good news category, some good reviews have shown up, including one Editor sent me a line of, from RTBookReviews.com.

You can’t read the review unless you subscribe, but you can see the 4 1/2 stars.
