New stuff

I realized I needed business cards for the upcoming trips, and having waited too long to order interesting ones in time, I bought software to make my own.  With my own graphics.

What a time sink!   What fun!    Three Paksworld-specific business card designs, two-sided, the back side with a list of the Paksworld books.   Unfortunately my favorite design, where the background was supposed to be the map for the new book turned sideways and ‘faded’ enough not to compete with the business card data, printed too pale, though the map showed up fine on screen.

The top one was designed in Paint Shop Pro, originally to have it printed by a professional, but I just wasn’t sure of it–so didn’t send it in.    It took me awhile to figure out how to import that into the business card software.

The middle one is, of course, the new book’s cover.

The bottom one, done when I was having fits trying to get the top one to work with the other software, uses a slightly different map version.

I may try redoing the top one with a different amount of “fade” on the map (it was done in layers–the color I wanted, the transparent-map layer over it, faded, and then the text on top, then all merged.)

This image is a photograph of the cards laid out on the kitchen table.
