Original new covers

Baen Books will re-issue the original three books with new covers to coordinate with the Del Rey release of Oath of Fealty.    And let me say right now that this is a very generous (and all too rare) example of cooperation by a former publisher.   Three cheers for Baen, not only for publishing these books when I was a raw unknown newbie, but for keeping them in print, and for agreeing to repackage them in 2010.  Hip, hip, hooray! (x 3)

And not only that, but they hired a terrific artist for the job:  Todd Lockwood.   Yesterday the artist contacted me for some background information (since he won’t have time to read all three of them before he starts working on the cover design for Sheepfarmer’s Daughter.

I’m delighted with Baen’s choice (who wouldn’t be???) and am sure that what Todd comes up with will be really, really good.

Meanwhile (blush!  Forgot to mention this earlier in the week; I was fixated on the problem chapter and a few other things) Orbit UK have shown me the new  cover their people designed for the UK publication of the one-volume Deed of Paksenarrion.   I found it intriguing and striking.

So–two publishers to cheer for, and two artists and I hope you all like the various covers as they come out.
