…otherwise known as “stupid virus.” This has slowed work at a time when I didn’t need to slow down, but though I can’t write long at a time, I can think about things. So progress is being made. Just slower than I want to make it.
I have been housebound since coming home from fencing last week…started feeling lousy on Friday, and things rapidly went downhill, so I’m getting maybe a half hour to an hour at the computer before doing a face-plant in the bed again. With a weird schedule as a result. Not to worry–it’s nothing serious, just a stupid virus. Takes longer to get over than it used to but still just a virus.

Bummer. Having just gotten one of those bogus e-mails “bad virus coming! copy to all your friends,” that’s what my mind went to first when I saw “stupid virus.” Oddly relieved that it’s not bad computer problems, only the body getting sick. At least the recovery from that is fairly predictable, if tedious. Take the rest you need.

Ugh, it seems to be that time of year. My wife, my & grandma all 3 are sick w/ something, and Im really really hoping that what ever it is, I dont catch it. All 3 are coughing an sneezing and congested, seems like a really bad cold and I’d really prefer to not have to deal w/ that.

Much sympathy on the virus and I hope you feel a lot better very quickly.
Vitamin D tablets seem to help a lot, in keeping such things at bay, when one isn’t getting enough sunshine on the skin.

Years ago, in a notebook I now can’t find, I wrote a little verse starting “A cold in the head is worse than flu…’cause no one feels sorry for you…” A cold (barring complications that almost never come) isn’t going to kill you, it’s just going to make you miserable and mess up your plans, but you can feel almost as sick as if you had something “real.”
I’m recovering. Proof of that is another verse that came to me this morning, to the tune of “Rock of Ages” (“Cough of Ages” is its name, and it deserves no other fame… the verse daemon has hold of my so-called creative faculties.)
