How Did It Get to Be Thursday?!

Yes, yes, I’m neglecting this blog.  Yes, I posted to the 80 Acres site in between posts to this one.   (I found cochineal scale all over one prickly pear–if you’ve ever wondered where the gorgeous natural red dye that once made the “redcoats” of the British Army came from, take a look.)   So Monday was basically a rest day, except for a little work on music–which “rest” involved not so much rest as catching up on non-book work.  Tuesday was voice lesson and choir rehearsal, plus a long chat with our lawyer about guardianship changes we might make for our son.    Wednesday was music work (the rehearsal Tuesday having shown up problems) for the evening’s Epiphany service, plus (in between) more non-book work.    And that’s how it got to be Thursday.

However,  in the back of my mind, the story keeps rolling and churning and throwing up new stuff.   Since Editor won’t get to Book II right away, I have to tread warily in the opening parts of Book III…if she wants cut something that later turns up in Book III…adjustments have to be made.

Had another talk with the retiring MSgt about whether I can use one of her enthusiasms for “her” character in the book, and she said yes.   So we have that Halveric sergeant a jewelry collector of sorts–spent her spare pay on stuff from Aarenis–and this becomes plot-significant.   How, I’m not prepared to say at this time.

Am also considering how to back-fit her into Book II,  just as a mention.   Halveric troops appear briefly…might be possible to have her mentioned, though she says she plans to stay alive until Book III is out.

Apologies for the gap in posting here.
