To all who celebrate, Merry Christmas.
At Wednesday’s rehearsal, when I found out a choir member was retiring after 34 years from the National Guard–and is a MSgt–I thought of how much I’ve enjoyed this woman in the years I’ve known her, and how well her character would fit into the book. So I asked. She’s delighted.
The fellow whose name I had decided to change…will change more than that, since this is the best fit for her personality.
We had snow for about an hour in the afternoon of Christmas Eve, which was a bit worrisome with the long drive ahead, but it stopped shortly before we had to leave, and we had a safe drive down and back. High winds, but not bad enough to cause us a problem (glad I wasn’t driving a bus or tall truck!)
We went to the early service (7 pm) at St. Matthew’s, where Richard’s in the choir, and the 10:30 service at St. David’s, where I sing in the choir, with a drive across the city in between. Gorgeous music both places. Then we drove home, making it back out here by 1:40 am.
