Pause is now ended. Thank you all for quieting down a lot last night.
A Situation occurred, in which both parties behaved honorably. One party applied to Admin; Admin contacted the other party, who responded appropriately, and as a result a post has been deleted.
Speculation about the Situation is not an approved topic for this blog, including discussion of what post was removed and why and so on. Any comments related to it will be deleted. That might cause more flaming-owl emails. You don’t want that. I can’t stop speculation outside the blog, though I can advise that dwelling on Situations usually does not improve things. (Life experience here.) I value the contributions of both parties to this community (and those of the rest of you as well.)
New material will shortly go up on the Policies page of the blog, and I’ll probably post a regular (if I remember it) reminder that the Policies page is there for a reason.
In any future Situations, feel free to email me about it, ideally before it grows from a little bitty lower-case situation to a great big honkin’ all-caps SITUATION, if you can’t settle things peaceably among yourselves. (This one had only one capital letter, so the timing was appropriate.) It’s my job, though far from my favorite job.
And now I’m off to revise Policies, and then to do actual, you know, work on Book V, so I won’t be coming back here (hopefully) until later in the day. When I shall hope to have no flaming-owl emails to send to anyone.
