Totally Off-Topic, But…

A flash mob performing to “Puttin’ on the Ritz” in Moscow, as it snows slightly.  This is your feel-good moment for the day, and maybe the month.  I could not resist sharing it with you, though I can’t think of anything (other than “It snows in Paksworld”) that connects.

A good friend sent it to me as I switched from work to email, I watched and…enchantment.

Oh. My. Gods. What a rush!!! Thank you, Elizabeth — that completely made my day. I only wish I could have been there, jumping up and down on the sidelines like the adorable toddler of whom we caught just a glimpse. I defy anyone to watch that video and not smile…

I just could not resist sharing this…so glad you had the same reaction. My feet were tapping, my arms waving, big grin…NEEDED it.

Like you, wanted to be part of it.

Loved the smiling faces, especially the bride. Thanks for upbeat addition to my day.

Very infectious and seeing everybody having such a wonderful time in the Moscow cold makes the world a better place.

I knew there was a good reason for visiting Paksworld today. I have forwarded this to some UK friends.
Keep the good work going. Like most readers I am waiting with tongue hanging out for Limits of Power and volume 5.
    Take care of yourself Elizabeth.

I have always loved that song and this is probably my new favorite version of it.

    Very funny.

Who was that sour-looking dude in black with a camera? KGB spook?

This really didn’t fit in the later blog.

    Happy Fourth.

I wondered about that…but have no idea. Maybe just a disapproving off-duty policeman? Ordinary person? Or maybe his face just grew that way?

Thanks. I’m about to go splat, having stayed up to 4 am (here) to watch the CERN videocast of the Higgs announcement. I don’t do well in night-owl territory. (And I still hate PowerPoint slides!!! but understand that if you’re trying to present data analyzed only in the last two days, you don’t have time to make the prettier slides.) It was a real rush to be there (so to speak) with the video on, Nature‘s Geoff Brumfiel’s live blog on, and Twitter on. How to feel like you’re ocnnected to a much wider world–Switzerland, Australia, and high science.

But now it’s catching up with me again. You would not believe how many typos I’m having to fix per sentence and making more every in each new one. Time to put the brain down, pull the covers over it, and let the sparkly signals die back to something less jittery.

I love flash mob videos. I have never seen this one so thanks for sharing it.

I have been caught up all night on Youtube before following one link after another watching these 😛
