The hospital called to tell me that my husband come through surgery OK and is now up in a room doing fine. We still have concerns to be dealt with (the biopsy, for instance) but so far so good.
Thank you all so much for being a supportive community. I’ll be even scarcer, as doing the outdoor chores here and running up to the hospital every day between the morning and evening chores will eat up writing or internet time, so…response will be slow.

Take good care and write when you can. You know we’re all pulling for you. I know how that is when a loved one is in the hospital — extra work, no fooling. Glad to hear he came through the surgery fine, and wishing results on the biopsy.

I’m in the same position (except for writing). Don’t forget to take care of yourself also. If you need help ask for it. It took me two meltdowns to learn that lesson. Sending good vibes your way.

Elizabeth, that is great news. With this kind of post I’m sure we’re all fine waiting for more. Do take care and continued prayers for all.

Thanks for the update. Prayers continue. Take it one step at a time (though we all know some steps are taken with heavier loads than other steps).

Any experience with the health care system is scary. Congratulations on the good news and best wishes moving forward. As others have said, take care of yourself as well. Work at giving yourself some quiet time; it helps.

I remember when my sister was born. . . It was NOT a happy time in our household, made even more so by the fact that we had just bought a house for the first time. My mom went through hell, and I was not able to help much. The things you regret. . . But then, my mother is one of the strongest people I have ever known. One of the reasons she reads your books. And I really hope your husband does not hurt himself again working or at home. Stubborn is as stubborn does, unless told in a way they can accept.
