Birthday Present

Posted: March 7th, 2017 under Uncategorized.

The websites and blogs have all moved to their new host, where they are now live and healthy and ready to receive more posts from Y’r Author.   That happened today, thanks to a rescue by the stalwarts at SFF.net (which is closing down) and Anne Yates-Laberge (whose name I keep typoing…my fingers aren’t there yet–I just typed finters for fingers, too.)   The previous arrangement for the move, Somewhere Else, turned out to lack certain necessary capacities (to the great frustration of Karen, my web-guru since last summer)  and when the end of everyone’s patience was reached,  Anne performed the necessary miracles, rather like Paks arriving at the last moment to save the day.   So just throwing out a little hint here, if anyone has a problem with their website, needs to move a website (or several), and so on: Anne is a pleasant, skilled, amazingly fast,  rescuer of desperate website owners in need.   Here’s her email: anne226@gmail.com

As it was my birthday today, having the dark clouds of failure roll back and reveal the sunlit uplands of success was *exactly* the birthday present I needed, and a birthday lunch with my husband put (literally as it happened) the candle on the cake (was not expecting dessert to arrive with a lit candle on top.)

Meanwhile…COLD WELCOME has some nice early reviews.   INTO THE FIRE is within a few pages (I think) of being finished, though it’s the kind of book that keeps saying “Well, actually there this other thing that resonates with that thing, and you’ll never guess what Mmmph did and that really should be included…”  It’s LONG.

A last minute happy birthday to you, Elizabeth, and many many more. Getting the web challenges sorted out at the same time has to feel pretty good.

May we have links to the reviews of “Cold Welcome”?

Happy birthday! Lovely news – I have missed your posts, and I hope my comments will now go through and not fall into a bit-bucket somewhere!

Here’s a link to what I posted on the Universes blog: http://elizabethmoon.com/blog/index.php/2017/03/08/and-a-reviewer-said/

I don’t have links to the reviews in their original sites; as mentioned there, my editor sent me just the quoted reviews, and on the Universes site these are edited by me to remove spoilers, etc.
