1. I was informed today there’s an offer on the new Vatta book.   Agent is  on it–details will be hammered out…er…peaceful negotiations will result in a contract most pleasing and desirable for all parties.

2. Kirkus Reviews picked Crown of Renewal as one of the best fantasy novels of the year.  https://www.kirkusreviews.com/issue/best-of-2014/section/fiction/?page=8

3.  In this fascinating graphic of 62 different stories of the future,  a lot of information is turned into one stunning timeline.   And one of my books is on it.   http://www.brainpickings.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/futureevents_giorgialupi_large.jpg

Excellent news all around! Today I finished reading the Vatta’s War quintet (again). Definitely happy to hear there’s more on the horizon.

    Congratulations on all fronts!

Can we safely assume that your muse is in full swing about a Vatta Universe Story ?

How does it fit in the timeline to the Vatta-Pentalogy ?

Yes, all around good news. Three cheers for the publisher who picked up the story. May the PD continue to point you in the write (pun intended) direction on the Vatta front.

Praying for all the best on the healing front.

Sharidann: I’m not at a point where I can discuss details at all. It’s still vulnerable to panic attacks and retreating from its writer. Sorry.

Thanks everyone, for the good wishes.

    talking to a reluctant story

Oh you won’t like where I’m going… I’ll go there without you then… See – how do you like …

You’re not listening to me… sounds of story slamming door and stomping off in a huff…

    I hate you … oh – really… well… maybe I could… yes love you too…

Vatta is one of the sets I go to when I need a good ‘comfort food’ readfest.

I have read all of the Paks world books several times. I love them! Thank you for writing them. I just finished Crown of Renewal again, and like every time I am done, I would love to know what further adventures Dorrin has. Could you please write a book about her adventures after Crown of Renewel? Thank you.

Michelle: Thanks for writing and for liking the Paksworld books. The reason there’ve been no new books out since 2018 it that I had a fifth concussion early in 2018, and sure enough those things are cumulative. The first three, I though, didn’t do much damage but shaking me up for slightly increasing lengths of time, but the 4th and 5th, less than six months apart, really did damage. For the first two year afterward, I had the usual post-serious-concussion problems–balance, memory, focus, attention span, energy level, plus difficulty reading (which I dealt with by going back to what I could read–books I’d enjoyed as a child–and working up to more difficult books over time), and writing. Nonfiction writing came back first. Fiction took–is still taking–much longer, and came back in interesting segments of what’s needed to write fiction. I’m still struggling with the last piece of the puzzle. It would take too long to describe in detail, but I am working at writing five days a week, and progress, though slow, is continuing. Whether I’ll get back to Dorrin I don’t know yet. I had planned to, but now what I planned is hazy in my mind. We’ll just have to see. As one of his therapists said about our son, “We can’t know how far he can go until he quits advancing.” That’s true of me, as well.
