Balticon and Being Away from Blog

Tuesday morning I board the train and Thursday evening I arrive in Baltimore.  I won’t be posting or emailing then–and will have scant time to do so while at Balticon, probably–and again no time on the way home.  So we’re looking at a ten day hiatus that might be relieved by a post or two somewhere in there–or not, as time often compresses during conventions.

If you’re planning to attend Balticon, I hope to see you there.

Are you still planning to attend A-Kon in Dallas starting June 10? I’ve been plotting and planning, trying to figure out how to get that Friday off from work so I can finally meet you.

How will we connect? I tried sending you a DM on Twitter, but you don’t follow me so that didn’t work.

I’m planning to, but it will depend on when husband’s surgery is schedule. Right now everything but tomorrow’s trip is “depending on when husband’s surgery is scheduled and the outcome thereof.” I’m not canceling until I have to.

There’s an email link on my main website (elizabethmoon.com) that comes to me, so you can use that.

Gotta run. One of the horses colicked this morning, so I’m way behind the day-before-trip schedule.

Elizabeth, my best wishes for husband, horse, and health – yours included. You must have been stressed beyond all reason these past couple of weeks.

When you get on the train, take a (lengthy) moment to just breathe deep.

Have a good trip and may all the outcomes be good ones.

I plan to totally veg out on the train. Nobody can get at me, and there’s nothing I have to do. (I will be knitting and writing, but also resting.)

I hope the weather doesn’t mess up the train (or anyone else.)

This is Arthur. I may or may not have told you this, but I live on the West Coast, and have never been to a con or a RenFaire. I had never even heard of them until 6 years ago or so. But the more I hear of them, the more I like them.

They can be a lot of fun. The big ones can be overwhelming the first time or so (and some people always prefer smaller ones.) I don’t know the West Coast conventions well (have been to just a few of them)–you might start with a smallish one and see how you like it in real life.
