he said.\u00a0 &#8220;I know other peers are planning to propose their sons to you, but I exercised a little persuasion to I could be the first to ask.\u00a0 I have a situation, you see.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A situation?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, perhaps you noticed that although there are girls in training to become Knights of the Bells, you never see them as anyone&#8217;s squire.\u00a0 There&#8217;s a feeling that girls of that age should be home with their families.\u00a0 They can train with the local grange, or even here for knighthood, but they&#8217;re just not chosen as squires.\u00a0 They need a woman&#8217;s guidance, is one thing people say.\u00a0 The girls don&#8217;t much like it, but there you are.\u00a0 Now, you&#8217;ve commanded women in battle; you know all the things that young women get into, I daresay.\u00a0 And I have a daughter&#8211;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>The daughter is Gwennothlin, and she fits the family character (&#8220;&#8230;all one brew, and that a heady one&#8230;&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p>#2<\/p>\n<p>Where:\u00a0 Fin Panir<\/p>\n<p>Who:\u00a0 The Marshal-General of Gird and Arvid Semminson<\/p>\n<p>The horse dealer protested.\u00a0 &#8220;It can&#8217;t be stolen.\u00a0 The Marshal told me&#8211;a Marshal from up there&#8211;&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 The man pointed his thumb up the hill.\u00a0 &#8220;He said it was his, and he wanted something quieter, not so flashy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Did he say why he bought it in the first place?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No&#8230;t&#8217;horse was jerking on the lead.\u00a0 I thought maybe he was heavy-handed.&#8221;\u00a0 The horse dealer watched Arvid scrubbing at the white on the near fore.\u00a0\u00a0 &#8220;I swear, Marshal-General, I didn&#8217;t know&#8230;he was a Marshal;\u00a0 I never even thought about it&#8211;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There we go.&#8221;
