{"id":855,"date":"2010-08-14T08:43:34","date_gmt":"2010-08-14T14:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=855"},"modified":"2010-08-14T08:44:38","modified_gmt":"2010-08-14T14:44:38","slug":"weeks-end-progress-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=855","title":{"rendered":"Week&#8217;s End Progress Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week wasn&#8217;t as productive as the week before, due to Things.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 However, other than two of the Things (neither of which produced any balancing good result), Things got done that needed doing.\u00a0 (Not all, by any means.)<\/p>\n<p>10,020 words for the five-day work week despite one day of &lt;300 words.\u00a0\u00a0 22,054 for the month of August up to this moment.\u00a0\u00a0 Need another 20,000 by the end of the month (before Dragon*Con, that is.)<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->What parts of the storyline have advanced most this week?\u00a0\u00a0 Two POVs in particular:\u00a0 Arvid&#8217;s and Arcolin&#8217;s.\u00a0\u00a0 Arcolin is faced with a big new problem in which loyalties will be stretched.\u00a0\u00a0 Arvid&#8230;there are too many people who want Arvid dead, not all for the same reasons.\u00a0 Other growth points have moved as well, but not as far.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The story is advancing on a broad front, like the tide&#8211;slower here, faster there, depending on the conformation of the shore.<\/p>\n<p>At times it feels like someone took the lid off\u00a0 huge bucket of red herrings and tossed them out&#8230;they&#8217;re wiggling in all directions, and they&#8217;re not ALL red herrings.\u00a0 Which ones must be written???\u00a0 The trouble with really easy-to-write characters, like Arvid, is that they aren&#8217;t main-line most of the time&#8230;so although they&#8217;re fun to write, they&#8217;re not &#8220;on task&#8221;
