{"id":531,"date":"2009-12-28T23:37:57","date_gmt":"2009-12-29T05:37:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=531"},"modified":"2009-12-28T23:37:57","modified_gmt":"2009-12-29T05:37:57","slug":"tippity-tap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=531","title":{"rendered":"Tippity-tap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s work was cautious fiddling with the changes already made&#8230;should this go here?\u00a0 Or here?\u00a0\u00a0 Should this bit go before or after that bit?\u00a0\u00a0 Read some sections aloud.\u00a0\u00a0 Ick, a clunky chunk, away with it.\u00a0\u00a0 A fossil of an earlier draft: away with that, too.\u00a0 But this bit from yet another draft&#8230;should go back in, maybe?\u00a0 Put it in, took it out, put it back in, decided to &#8220;save as&#8221; an alternate form of the chapter.<!--more-->Got up and walked around. \u00a0 Chopped an onion and some garlic and made chili with mostly venison and a little pork sausage&#8211;put that on to cook and went back to the chapters.\u00a0 So, OK, if <em>this<\/em> goes <em>here<\/em>&#8230;then will<em> that<\/em> go five chapters down, or six? \u00a0\u00a0 Drat, another fossil.\u00a0 How did I not see that weeks ago? \u00a0 Excise.\u00a0 But wait&#8230;it connects to something two chapters on, doesn&#8217;t it?\u00a0 (This is where I find it hard to deal with the file on computer alone.\u00a0 I need pages to flip and hold back.) \u00a0\u00a0 No, it doesn&#8217;t.\u00a0 Whew. \u00a0 Save with the excision.<\/p>\n<p>But that leaves a rough transition.\u00a0\u00a0 Who said the next sentence?\u00a0 Does it now make sense in light of the previous sentence?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Back out of edit mode, into draft mode&#8230;sink into the characters with the new order of things&#8211;now what do they feel?\u00a0 How would they say that?\u00a0\u00a0 What do you mean you wouldn&#8217;t say that at all?\u00a0 Well, what are you saying?<\/p>\n<p>A finicky day.\u00a0 A day with many an &#8220;Arg!
