{"id":2417,"date":"2015-02-02T23:02:36","date_gmt":"2015-02-03T05:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=2417"},"modified":"2015-02-02T23:28:58","modified_gmt":"2015-02-03T05:28:58","slug":"concert-report-brief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=2417","title":{"rendered":"Concert Report (brief)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The concert on January 26 was amazing.\u00a0\u00a0 Everyone had worked so hard and so well getting ready for it, and the weather (which had been icky all week&#8211;that kind of &#8220;weeping&#8221; cold winter rain)\u00a0 cleared off so it was a perfectly clear, sunny afternoon, not too hot or too cold.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The musicians were *wonderful*&#8211;not just talented musicians but genuinely nice people, lovely people.\u00a0\u00a0 And though I&#8217;d been just a little scared of bringing a chamber music string quartet to this community&#8230;it was a hit.\u00a0 Everybody liked it (well, maybe the 10 yo boy was tired of it by the long second half, but not the rest).\u00a0\u00a0 I could feel the electricity from audience to musicians and back.\u00a0\u00a0 Everything I&#8217;d worried about (how will the acoustics be in that space?\u00a0 What about having only one restroom?\u00a0 What if not enough people come?\u00a0 What if, what if, what if (a novelist can imagine complications and disasters VERY easily)\u00a0 didn&#8217;t happen and better things did.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Library-setup-for-concert.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2423\" src=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Library-setup-for-concert.jpg\" alt=\"Library setup for concert\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Library-setup-for-concert.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Library-setup-for-concert-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Set up for the concert.\u00a0 Chairs courtesy of The Vinyard at Florence.\u00a0\u00a0 Most of the chairs were filled.\u00a0 Behind that bookcase at the end is another room we used for a green room.\u00a0 You can see it&#8217;s a very intimate space, and it turned out the acoustics were fantastic.\u00a0 That freestanding bookcase at the end acts like a soundboard.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Programs-for-concert.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2424\" src=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Programs-for-concert.jpg\" alt=\"Programs for concert\" width=\"400\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Programs-for-concert.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Programs-for-concert-300x216.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Library Board President had leftover wedding invitation paper from doing a granddaughter&#8217;s wedding last summer;
