{"id":2210,"date":"2014-04-05T09:43:28","date_gmt":"2014-04-05T15:43:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=2210"},"modified":"2014-04-05T11:09:37","modified_gmt":"2014-04-05T17:09:37","slug":"the-possible-cover-for-collection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=2210","title":{"rendered":"The (Possible) Cover for Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First, the warning:\u00a0 This is not the final, approved cover design.\u00a0\u00a0 We may be tweaking it in several ways before sending it off for approval (which may not be given.)\u00a0\u00a0 Shifting things up, down, sideways a few pixels. \u00a0\u00a0 Fiddling with the &#8220;shine&#8221; on the letters. \u00a0 Etc. \u00a0 People should not get attached to it yet. \u00a0 For that reason, I&#8217;m putting it below the cut, and I&#8217;m not calling attention to this post on Twitter.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Although this is my design idea,\u00a0 working with Illustrator &#8482; is not in my skillset, so all the actual manipulations of design elements to get to this point were done by my very talented friend Ruta, at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.willowbrookdesigns.com\/\">Willowbrook Designs<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 So this is not a picture to be shared widely.\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;ll post a final cover design when it&#8217;s all tweaked and has been approved.<\/p>\n<p>What you&#8217;re getting is a Private\u00a0 Preview Director&#8217;s Cut kind of design.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/smalltest-inthemargins-green-leather.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2209\" alt=\"smalltest-inthemargins-green-leather\" src=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/smalltest-inthemargins-green-leather.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/smalltest-inthemargins-green-leather.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/smalltest-inthemargins-green-leather-187x300.jpg 187w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The other volumes will of course have different subtitles and different colored backgrounds.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In my dreams, the four (estimated) volumes would all be published as fancy narrow leatherbound books, on good paper, with this border design,\u00a0 and&#8211;just to show that a writer&#8217;s ego is not bound by reality&#8211;gold edging on the pages, as in some old books I have.\u00a0 I won&#8217;t go so far as deckle-edges, because in my part of the world deckle edges are the delight of household insects.\u00a0\u00a0 Maybe leather-look embossed heavy paper covers?
