{"id":1645,"date":"2012-08-02T10:16:05","date_gmt":"2012-08-02T16:16:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=1645"},"modified":"2012-08-02T10:16:05","modified_gmt":"2012-08-02T16:16:05","slug":"the-august-marathon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=1645","title":{"rendered":"The August Marathon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>August has been (on the publishing schedule I was on before) the month to charge ahead full speed and has been producing the most bang for the buck, wordage wise, usually on the back of a pretty solid production in July. \u00a0 So far, as of August 2, this month is not holding up well.<\/p>\n<p>I know I haven&#8217;t been around here much in the last week or so&#8211;just answering some comments&#8211;but the time has come to yank myself off other online venues as well.\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s so much easier to post on websites and blogs and give other people advice on writing&#8230;and so much harder to do the same wordage on my own book.\u00a0 But as Neil Gaiman said in his wonderful speech, the time comes when you realize you&#8217;re using up your professional time and energy and imagination&#8230;on something other than the work you&#8217;re here to do.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->So on the assumption that everyone here has read <em>Echoes <\/em>by now, and thus snippets from somewhere in <em>Limits of Power<\/em> that reveal some of what happened in <em>Echoes<\/em> won&#8217;t be spoilers&#8230;I&#8217;m going to switch to hunting up a few snippets a week for you and not blather on about other things.\u00a0 Really.\u00a0\u00a0 At least not much.\u00a0 At least not until after the day&#8217;s wordage is done.<\/p>\n<p>I need\u00a0 to get serious wordage on the books in the next 27 days, before leaving for WorldCon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August has been (on the publishing schedule I was on before) the month to charge ahead full speed and has been producing the most bang for the buck, wordage wise, usually on the back of a pretty solid production in July. \u00a0 So far, as of August 2, this month is not holding up well.
