{"id":1240,"date":"2011-06-21T15:22:30","date_gmt":"2011-06-21T21:22:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=1240"},"modified":"2011-06-21T21:47:18","modified_gmt":"2011-06-22T03:47:18","slug":"snippet-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/?p=1240","title":{"rendered":"Snippet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I think&#8211;I hope&#8211;this won&#8217;t be a spoiler at all.\u00a0 It&#8217;s from Book IV, not <em>Echoes<\/em>,\u00a0 but it doesn&#8217;t reveal anything too&#8230;spoilerish.\u00a0 I hope.\u00a0 And after all, it might disappear in editing.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->&#8220;She looked around and caught her breath at the pattern of colored stone in the room&#8217;s center.\u00a0\u00a0 Once having looked, she could not look away.\u00a0 The colored bands that formed a pattern of intertwining and curving lines seemed to force her gaze to move along them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This very short snippet (short to avoid spoilerage, and also thus devoid of person, place, and time cues) has connections that run all the way back to <em>Surrender None<\/em> (in book terms) and before (in Paksworld history terms.)<\/p>\n<p>Addendum (late evening):\u00a0\u00a0 just for fun, the progress on the knitting projects while riding on the train and waiting in lines and sitting at a table in Artists Alley at A-Kon and such over the past month:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/multi-color-blanket042.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1242\" title=\"multi-color-blanket042\" src=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/multi-color-blanket042.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" \/><\/a><em>Project #1, the blanket<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/turquoise-scarf040.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1243\" title=\"turquoise-scarf040\" src=\"http:\/\/www.paksworld.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/turquoise-scarf040.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/><\/a>Project #2, the scarf<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Project #1 is 40 inches wide and will be somewhere in the 40 inches to 48 inches long range.\u00a0 (Depends on where I run out of yarn.)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s on size 7 (American) wooden KnitPicks wooden &#8220;Harmony&#8221;
